About this tool

Rotate PDF pages without uploading

Rotate all pages or specify individual pages and ranges. The new document keeps the existing page content rather than converting the PDF into pictures.

Before you start

Rotating a PDF changes the display angle of pages; it does not rotate objects independently inside each page.

Are files uploaded to a server?

No. The input file bytes are processed inside your browser. Some tools download their JavaScript libraries from public CDNs, but the files themselves are not uploaded.

Do I need an account or a paid plan?

No. The current version is free, has no registration and runs on devices with a compatible modern browser.

Can I rotate just one page in a PDF?

Yes. Specify an individual page or page range, or rotate the whole document. The output remains a PDF rather than a set of pictures.

Page rotation fixes viewing orientation without changing the photographed content

Scanners and phone cameras often produce pages that are technically valid but rotated for the reader. Updating PDF page rotation is cleaner than asking every recipient to rotate their viewer manually, especially when a document mixes portrait and landscape pages.

Rotation is not the same as cropping or deskewing. A page that was photographed at an angle can remain skewed after a 90-degree turn, and large empty margins remain part of the page. Review the output in a second PDF viewer when the document will be printed or submitted to another system.

Practical checks

Practical walkthrough · pdf rotate

Correct a sideways scanned attachment

Example task: A scanner produced a portrait PDF whose second page is rotated to landscape.

Try this workflow

  1. Open the PDF and identify which pages need turning.
  2. Rotate only the affected page in the direction needed to read its text.
  3. Download the new PDF and check orientation and page order at normal zoom.

What to expect

A page’s orientation changes; text, crop, and content placement should be checked in the exported file.

When to take extra care

Rotation changes the view orientation; it cannot sharpen a blurred scan or repair missing page edges. Re-check digitally signed documents.
